This 3-CE course is based on recordings of talks given at a Symposium titled "Four on Metaphor," held on June 9, 2015 at the Annual IASD Conference in Virginia Beach, by Dr. Donald Kuiken, Dr. Brigitte Holzinger, Dr. Shannon Downs Zivot, and Kenneth Arenson [session chair].
The course also incorporates a workshop held on June 7, 2015 by Kenneth Arenson, titled "Inner Speech: How to Listen Slant to Hear More than is Said in a Dream Report." The Symposium asked whether and how eye movements [EMs] might function in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder [PTSD] by Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing [EMDR]. The Workshop introduced the technique of Inner Speech that can be adopted to determine if PTSD-related nightmares are moving toward resolution.

A 1-CE course, based on a presentation at the music festival, "Unsound Festival," in Krakow, Poland on Oct. 12, 2014 (www.unsound.pl). Dr. Gackenbach was invited to speak by Goethe-Institut, a German cultural institute in Poland. The theme of the festival was dreams in all its forms; thus the relevance of her work on video game play and dreams. The title of the talk was, “Video Game Play as Nightmare Protection," which is the title of a talk she gave at the 2014 IASD conference, as well. The course includes a Youtube audio recording of Dr. Gackenbach's presentation, and her slideshow accompaniment.
